GCA club

I joined soccer club in our school, I played as a defender, our coach was called “Mr. Pinny”, and he came from England. Our club training is on every Thursday afternoon from 4:15 to 5:30. I love play soccer. In each training, we have same schedule, the first one is running, next is training on one skill, such as heading, corner kick, shooting, etc.

I learned a lot of things in the soccer club, soccer is a team sport, so team work is the most important skill in a soccer team, if we want to win a game, we have to work together, one super star can’t beat 11 normal players, we need to pass the ball to the player who has good position, on one should play by himself, but I think our club’s weakness is we are not good at team work. That’s why we lost a lot of games. We have played one match with NIS (Nanjing International School), all the students in this school are foreigners, at least we lost the game, the score is 7-1, we all have nothing to say about that match, they all taller and stronger than us, and they practice more than us. Do you know what is more practice means? More practice makes they work together very proficiency, so that’s can tell us something. In our life we must work with others, if you can’t work with each other, which means you can’t integrate into society, one person can’t integrate into society, and everything that he is desire will means nothing!

In GCA, we also have lot of group work, several people work together. For a high mark, everyone in one group should work together for one purpose. I have an old china idiom that can show the distance between a genius and a group of people, “Three cobblers are batter than a Zhu Geliang!” Zhu Geliang is a genius in China history, no one can beyond him, but three cobblers are better than him, that’s tell us we should work together, there is another idiom said, “unity is power!!”, it also tell us the same thing.

Our club’s strengths is we are very modest, maybe because we have nothing can proud of, but anyways, we are very modest, that is a good thing, never be conceit. I also can tell you a China idiom, “An army puffed up with pride is bound to lose.”

I have learned a lot in GCA soccer team, not only soccer skill, what I have learned is more important than soccer skill. What I have learned maybe will help me with my whole life!!!
